Also congratulations on the release of version 9.0

Every time it does, I have to either copy my secure password from my password manager, or at this point, it’s getting annoying enough that I’m keeping my password in my clipboard manager. In either case, this introduces a certain level of risk of password sniffing over just staying authenticated like the backup app does.

Dreadful look is on Windows.
I would bet that the vast majority of your team works on Macs.

Terrifying.

So many client restores at once could crush your systems.

Also, this should be a choice. I am willing to use some of my 24 cores for more security.

Not great.

I was only able to complete one restore.
The second got stuck somewhere and produced an 80GB log file.
After that, no restored work. I cleaned out, started new ones, etc.

No luck.

In case you are wondering, check out your support case 921252

As an aside, the UI is dreadful, both the “look” and the actual restore experience.

I noticed the Settings panel does not seem to have changed. One thing I’d hoped would have been implemented is the ability to change the panel’s size. When viewing either the “Issues” tab or the “Hard Drives” section of the main Setting tab, it’s frustrating to have to scroll left/right/up/down to see the details. I have 6 drives in my PC, and not being able to easily see their status is a (minor) pain. It’d be lovely if this panel was resizeable.

One small nitpick, it appears to not preserve the file timestamp after the restore. If I restore using the new client, the timestamp on the restored file is the time of the restore. If I do it with the old web ZIP method, it has the original file timestamp.

Ok…now I’m worried.
Where does the encryption happen?

AES encryption and decryption are pretty similar workload wise.

If my PC can encrypt the data before uploading, then it’s perfectly capable of decrypting same.
I’m worried now that our files are actually being uploaded in the clear (protected by TLS of course) and then encrypted server side. Can you please clarify.

Aside…our PCs are still encrypting and decrypted the data regardless, thanks to TLS. Yes it’s a streaming cipher v a large block, but the overall volume is the same, just throttled by the bandwidth.
