Further, BlogVault and BackupGuard also don’t support Backblaze (when I check the documentation on their websites).
XCloner, has a broken implementation (or possibly unreliable one based upon the WordPress environment, although I tried it in 4 different ones) , so not usable for Backblaze.
This leaves me thinking Backblaze is not a viable option, and instead I should be going to one of the main solutions, like Amazon, Dropbox, etc.
Finally, given WordPress has a very large market share of websites, was surprised Backblaze had not launched a plugin (that also would have sold their service). There’s seemingly little to no support under WordPress.
I’m guessing, the issue once we go with better supported solutions, this leaves no real need to revisit Backblaze. I think it’s okay for desktops, but (in my opinion), no good for the large WordPress sphere.

You should always upgrade your WP plugins, files and so on to the latest version released and it’s good to use SSL certificates and CageFS as well. With my current ssd wordpress hosting I use R1Soft backup for daily backups.

Hi Lezlee. I don’t believe that Weebly supports backing up to any cloud services. If you ask them, they might do it, however.

Ask them to support B2. If they get requests, they could support it.

My latest iteration has been to install Ubuntu on a 1TB VPS from Time4VPS for a few bucks a month, and run it as a Backup/Archive Server. Every night, it triggers (via http to PHP code) mysqldump of WordPress (and phpBB) databases on Shared Hosting accounts, and then uses lftp on the Server to upload those mysqldump’s and WordPress files (via lftp mirror command). Then using Duplicity to do incremental-forever backups of everything to B2, with a different Bucket for each database, and a Bucket for each Shared Hosting account’s files, even if that includes several WordPress sites.

Sound complicated, but it beats paying for the amount of Backup coverage I want from the Shared Hosting vendors that I use.
