Posting the data as an image is pretty junk. You can’t search for anything or copy paste. Can you post it as actual text in the future?

Hi. I am a Backblaze newbie and have never seen a stats report like this. So you monitor about a quarter million drives. Are these in data centers or individual computers (home and business)? Thanks Bill

In reply to Csaba Boros. Thanks for bringing that up. To date the investigation has not been able to pinpoint a specific cause for the higher than expected failure rates of that drive model (ST14000NM0138). A similar Seagate drive model (ST14000NM001G) is doing very well in our environment, making things even more perplexing. We'll continue to review the failed drives, but as they age, factors such as natural component wear-out will begin to filter in making any analysis more difficult.

Hey Andy, as always thank you for sharing this one. Any news about the 14TB Seagate with so high failure rate? You mentioned in one of the earlier reports that it is actively being investigated.

Do you have anything that compares the failure rate of SSDs vs regular magnetic disks?
