I agree. Back-up helps a lot in improving performance.

and i found difficulties whene i model the data using lifetime distributions because the censoring rate is very hight which can affect the quality of estimation
my question is :
is there some hard drives that fail without showing (1) in failure ?
i hope you anwer me
thank you

At what point will you switch to ssd vs hd? If you include power, cooling, vibration, longevity, does SSD come in cheaper or more expensive than hd?

I was wondering at what point your focus will change towards SSD, or if you have tested SSD/Hybrid drives?

This data is invaluable.
Drive manufacturers and retailers have this data but they hide it from us, preventing us from making informed choices.
Thank you BACKBLAZE for being the good guys; for making the world a better place!

My choice was the ironwolf or the Toshiba n300 since its cheaper. Then I came across this blog and saw the failure rate is quite high for Seagate. Any advice on which to get out of both?
