I manage and check everything myself every day. Thanks to this we have been able to restore servers, PC terminals and NAS. I learned that the 3.2.1 backup system is basic, if you don’t use it you are lost. Even in my company we make complete images every 6 months of the computers and servers with Macrium, so in case of encryption we have a copy of the functional system and all the copies, in a few hours you can have the system running. I still remember the last time in 2019 as the “bug” Ryuk I could see it in action right under my nose, we were updating some server programs and we saw how it was encrypting and destroying the server with Windows 2008 in real time. Now with Backblaze I have one more copy that gives me more peace of mind.

It’s important that employees understand how to recognize phishing attempts and that there’s a plan in place for them to report them to the IT team or organization.

Will automated forensics, compared to analysts who are already loaded with alerts to work on, help in stopping ransomware? I mean i wanted to understand what can be a typical time that a network has to stop ransomware, if it is possible to?
