Uploading and Migrating Files

Some Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage customers already have a tool that can be used to move or copy their data into Backblaze B2, like Veeam, MSP360, Arq, rClone, Synology, or another integration. An integration is a third-party software that acts as a liaison between your data and Backblaze B2.

Direct Upload Methods

If your files are smaller than 500 MB, you can directly upload them using the Backblaze web UI. If you have files larger than 500 MB, you must use an integration. Using an integration is a simpler option if you do not want to do your own coding. 

If you are comfortable using a Command-Line Interface, you can use CLI to get your data into Backblaze B2. 

Backup and Archive

If you want to back up or archive a single server, Backblaze recommends MSP360’s CloudBerry Backup (Windows, Mac, Linux, SQL) or Arq (Windows, Mac).

If you have multiple servers to back up, MSP360’s Managed Backup Service provides you with centralized management of your backups in a single pane of glass.

Media Workflows

Many of our media and entertainment customers use NAS device for their local storage. If you already have a network-attached storage (NAS) device, you can use these guides to get started for Synology Cloud Sync, Synology Hyper Backup, or QNAP Hybrid Backup Sync.

If you do not already have an integration, Backblaze recommends using a secure file transfer app such as Transmit (Mac), ChronoSync (Mac), or Cyberduck (Windows, Mac).

Application Storage

You can interface with our S3-compatible APIs, a CDN, or SDKs. You can also use our Backblaze B2 Developer Quick-Start Guide.

Migrating Data

If you have less than 50 TB of data stored with Amazon S3, you can easily move your data to Backblaze B2 with our cloud migration partner, Flexify.
