    Use the Transfer a License Option

    Article Summary

    You can remove a backup from an account and reassign the license to another backup in the same account.

    If you are a member of a group, you must complete only the Delete a Backup task since all new backups that were created by group members are licensed automatically through group billing.

    Delete a Backup

    Deleting the backup does not immediately reduce the total billing or licenses on the account. To remove the license, click here.

    Before you begin: You should ensure that all of your data is local and accounted for using the restore process

    1. Sign in to your Backblaze account.
    2. Click here, and select the correct downloader for your operating system.
      The new installation will download as a 15-day free trial
    3. In the left navigation menu under Computer Backup, click Preferences.
    4. Click Delete Backup next to the computer that you want to delete.
    5. Enter your account password to confirm the deletion, and click Continue.

    Reassign a License

    1. In the left navigation menu under Computer Backup, click Overview.
    2. Click Use License next to your new computer name.
